Rudy Gobert was fined $100,000 by the NBA last weekend for insinuating that referees were being influence by the prolific rise in American sports betting. At the time he fouled out and got himself ejected, it was only a one point game; when Darius Garland made the technical free throw, he tied the game, and Cleveland would go on to win in overtime.
All I’m saying is that if Rudy had put $100,000 on the Cleveland moneyline, wouldn’t it be the perfect crime to get himself ejected for suggesting that the game was rigged because of gambling, then getting fined by the league because they say “It’s absolutely not rigged because of gambling,” and Rudy says, “Okay fine it’s not rigged because of gambling,” and then pays his fine with a small chunk of his gambling winnings?
